Pruhonice Castle - Great Attractions (Czech Republic)
Take a tour of Pruhonice Castle in Czech Republic. In the center of the Czech Republic, in the town of Pruhonice, is a unique and striking 12th century castle surrounded by a botanists haven. The castle and surrounding park was brought into its splendor in the 19th century by its then owner who was also an amateur botanist. This castle has gone through many architectural changes throughout the centuries, starting with Gothic and ending with its present Neo-Renaissance appearance. The structure and grounds are owned by, and home to, the Czech Republic Institute of Botany. The landscape is beautiful and filled with many types of trees, bushes, and flowers.
